John Knox Village is a large community that offers countless activities and services to our residents. With that in mind, can you even begin to image how many wonderful and fulfilling volunteer opportunities there are available through independent living and assisted living? Our volunteers have multiple opportunities to contribute their time and talents throughout our campus. Have a creative streak? Help out with our arts and crafts programs. Love children? Volunteer at our on-campus child development center. Enjoy people? Meet and greet diners at our world-class Places Restaurant & Café. John Knox Village Auxiliary
Auxiliary volunteers have one thing in common–they love helping people. Their giving natures and friendly demeanors are a perfect fit with for the Auxiliary, a volunteer-run organization with a mission is to serve the John Knox Village community. Eager to help a customer, stock shelves, prepare merchandise for sale or create a beautiful quilt, Auxiliary volunteers are rewarded every time they share their time and talents with the Village community.
Village Care Center
More than 100 people of varying ages, backgrounds and beliefs have at least one thing in common – they bring joy to those who live and work at the Village Care Center of John Knox Village through their volunteer efforts. They make a difference in the lives of residents, associates and other volunteers by serving in a variety of areas, including the beauty shop, the old-fashioned ice cream parlor, offices, physical therapy and other areas of the facility. Volunteers also assist with resident activities, meet and visit with residents through the visitor and buddy program, and escort residents to medical appointments (transportation is provided), among other service opportunities.

Village Hospice
Hospice volunteers play an important role in assuring quality of life for hospice patients. Along with a warm and caring attitude, each volunteer brings a unique set of life experiences and skills to use in working with patients and families. Our volunteers provide a variety of services, from offering simple companionship, such as listening, playing games or just sitting quietly, to arranging flowers or helping with office work.
